This weeks featured blog post is on the MAD Academy beach clean up. Last Friday as a fundraiser, we picked up trash off of our local beach. We each got pledge sheets and had to fill out 30 names on them. We were and still are raising money to pay for all the great things and opportunities that we get from the MAD academy. Some of these things include clean, functioning computer labs, and a computer for almost every student in each classroom. My group at the beach clean up was: Taylor, Rosie, Erin, Gabe, Sabina, and Levi. There was not that much big pieces of trash, so we went for the little ones. The little pieces of thrash such as cigarette buds are the ones that are the most dangerous so animals because they try to eat them and then they die. We picked up one and a half pounds of trash all together. That’s pretty good considering that there were only tiny trash pieces. At the whole beach clean up there were about 15 different groups who each averaged about 2 pounds. That means that we picked up about 30 pounds of trash. That is impressive if i do say so myself! Beach Days

Beached beached
beached we are all
surely beached
upon the shores of life.
Your life or mine
we are beached
beneath blue starry skies
lost upon the shore
we all call creation.
Yes man we surely are
beached every man, child,
woman and beast.
What this beached means
in context of this poem.
I’m yet to know or
really even decide.

This poem is by Wayne Falconer. I wanted to post a poem about the beach because the weather around Santa Barbara has been so great lately. After school today me and my friends Gabe Colette and Hana all just layed on the beach, beached while listening to music and eating snacks. This poem could have used more imagery or used the senses better because I love so many feelings at the beach. Just after you take off you shoes and dip them into the sand is the best. I love the beach and can’t wait for summer. What are you most excited about for summer?!

Spring break
Spring break has passed but it sure was a blast
Got to relax, didn’t have any class
Went to San Diego to play some volleyball
turned out we won every game, guess were best of all
Drove back that night to Santa Barbara,
spent “bout 5 hours in the car but
didn’t mind cuz I had music
tons of it was acoustic.
Got home and to bed and slept like a log,
woke up the next morning and played with my dog.
Then went to my friend Hana’s house and painted her room
we even got hungry and made granola too.
After that we biked to the beach
and made a fort out of sheets
The next night I dined with the St. John Family
suddenly we all broke into Thrift Shop randomly.
The food that we had was the creme de la crop,
We had chile verde, potatoes, and pork chops.
The next day we spent the day at Faria beach
and stayed in the beach house of the Seabury’s
We got home at about 9 and Sam Spent the night,
made pancakes the next morning and ate every bite.
The next day we went on a hike to Lizard Mouth Rock,
It was a beautiful place to have a nice walk.
At about 4 later that day we left for orange county,
the weather that day was really very cloudy.
The next day I went on a 15 mile bike ride with my parents,
Took us about 4 hours till we got back to the house of my grandparents.
My cousins got in at about 3ish that day
we raided my grandmas closet and got new items hooray!
The next day was Easter, the last day of break,
T’was the end of lent so I had loads of cake.
And now I’m back at school, sitting in class.
Wishing that Spring Break had not passed so fast.

The Mistic Ocean

It’s a beautiful the mistic ocean.
I‘m intoxicating because a unknown mystery.
The Ocean feel as my inside world and
the surf break as drops of water.

The soul was very lonely so came to see a the Ocean’s kept a dreamed and
It wanted to be similiar to the Ocean.

The wide the Ocean is the native place of everything life very long time ago.
At the Ocean my mind is easy fall in love if exist person that well suit to me.

I felt the cold weather of life so I came to the Ocean.
Here I seek for that The dream of my soul.
Sometimes the Ocean was melancholy and furious.
It shows to we irdirectly that the various foms of the life

I want eagerly that
always as friend I’ll do with Ocean and
permenently I’ll live to keep the dream of Ocean.

I found this poem about the ocean and decided to put it on my blog because I haven’t been in it in a while and I miss the cool salty water. Anyone else feel the same way, comment below!
