An Ode to French Fries by Owen

Oh dear french fries,

you are so dear to me.

When my stomach cries,

you preform your good deed.

So salty and crisp,

you are fresh and hot.

My sadness into an eclipse,

you have my hunger fought.

And so I write this ode,

you I have in mind.

I bring you as food in my abode,

you help me over time.

I am so happy to see you at lunch

you fill my tray up.

And you disappear as I munch

you are dear like my pup.

Be glad for who you are,

you are loved by many.

People eat you near and far,

you are worth every penny.

Right now I just want some french fries. The best are steak fries because they are really meaty. I dont like the small crispy ones that are just crunchy all the way through, they just dont do it for me. But when I get a good one, mmmmmm, it really makes my day. This week we had a lunch for the MAD Academy kids. The food theme was pasta. I couldn’t make up my mind on just on pasta, so I got a little bit of each one. My favorite was pene pasta with delicious red sauce. I gotta say though, the Alfredo wasn’t exactly up to par. I don’t know f it’s just because i don’t usually have Alfredo  but it seemed almost waxy. however, I had the best salad of my life. It had greens, cashews, almonds, and tomatoes dressed with a vinaigrette. Apparently all those flavors come together in harmony  to create one delicious salad. The garlic bread was also superb, there wasn’t any left by the time I got my food, but my friend Kyla let me try some, and let’s just say it was better than the Alfredo. For dessert there as an assortment of baked goods, and a few cups of jelly beans. The cookies were delish, although I’m suspicious that they were store bought, but they were perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy in the center. I had about three cookies and a cup of jelly beans, so I won’t have low blood sugar for a looooong while. Chech out the MAD Acad website here, and comment below what your favorite pasta is!

I wrote this post as a little Friday treat to cheer ya’ll up at the end of the week. I have been watching the CW television series Supernatural since it began in 2005 and have always holstered a secret crush on the character Dean (played by Jensen Ackles). I highly recommend this TV show if you’re into thriller/ horror movies. Currently the show is in season 8, and about every week, a new episode premieres.
