Summer Solstice by Angel Love

The sun is shining ever so bright

On the longest day of the year

Illuminating the world with its brilliant light

Dispelling all traces of darkness and fear.

As it shines from above

Making the flowers bloom

It peaks in my window

And illuminates my room

The warmth that I feel

Goes down deep to my heart

Reminding me that love

Is what gives the day a good start.

My soul feeling rested

I rise from my bed

Throw open the window

And poke out my head

What a glorious day

To honor the sun

Knowing that all is connected

Knowing that all is one.

Today I wore a summer solstice shirt, so I decided that I would blog about that topic. In Santa Barbara, every year on Summer Solstice there is a parade down the main street of downtown, State Street. It’s so fun to watch, there are many intricate floats that are wheeled down the street. And there are dancers who do choreographed dances in large groups. Over all its a very great experience  and I recommend that you come to Santa Barbara for solstice this year. Comment below what YOU do for solstice!

Envisioning Sunshine

Why is it so cloudy today?

I need the sun, I don’t want the rain

The sky is dark and gloomy,

One after another, the clouds roll in.

Want to curl up by the fire,

sip hot chocolate, and get that corn a poppin’

Staring up at the sky

envisioning sunshine

When right before my eyes,

the clouds part and I see the sun rise.

The soft warmth radiating onto my skin

filling me with joy deep down within

My mind and my sole come together as one

and all this is simply because of the sun

What miracles it can work,

we see them everyday

photosynthesis, solar power, light, warmth and more,

all of these things brought on by its rays.

I JUST WANT THE SUN TO COME OUT TODAY!! I miss the summer shine and getting by bronze on. Only 5 months till summer, and I’m counting down the days. Ever feel the same way? Comment below with your cravings for el sol!
